Mendoza, Argentina
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Mendoza.
Mendoza's nightlife street with bars, restaurants, and pubs. Safest area for going out at night with police around and busy atmosphere. Still watch your stuff.
Locals call it 'Aristides' - this is where Mendoza goes out at night. Runs from Belgrano to Boulogne Sur Mer along San Martín Park. During the day it's quiet with shops and cafes, but Thursday through Saturday nights the outdoor tables pack with people. There are sculptures of Mafalda and Quino's other cartoon characters along the street (he was born in Mendoza). Irish pubs, craft beer bars, dance clubs, and restaurants doing everything from Argentine food to fusion. The street stays busy and lit until late with police around on weekends. Mix of young professionals, students, and tourists. Most places have outdoor seating when it's nice out. Servers usually speak enough English to take your order. This is the safest nightlife area in Mendoza, though keep your bag secure and don't wander into side alleys after midnight.
