Mendoza, Argentina
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Mendoza.
Upscale wine country suburb with good restaurants, boutique wineries, and village atmosphere. Works for wine-focused trips but isolated from city nightlife.
Wine country suburb about 20 minutes from downtown. Adobe houses, boutique hotels, and upscale wineries. Feels like a small village with tree-lined streets, artisan shops, and high-end restaurants. Much quieter than the city center. Gets wine tourists and locals on weekend getaways. The central plaza area stays safe day and evening, families walking around. The wine-focused restaurants make it normal to sit alone with a book and a glass. Wineries are short taxi rides away, so you can base here for wine tours instead of going back to the city every day. More English here than downtown since they cater to international wine tourists. No real nightlife though - most restaurants close by 11 PM and not many bars. You'll need a taxi or Uber to get downtown for other entertainment.
