Brisbane, Australia
Central business district with Queen Street Mall shopping, safe streets, and excellent transport connections.
Brisbane's CBD is pretty safe and easy to get around, especially Queen Street Mall which stays busy until late and has decent security. You'll see plenty of other women walking around solo, both locals and tourists. The mall area has good lighting and CCTV, plus there are always people around which helps you feel secure. Restaurant staff are generally friendly - solo dining is totally normal here so you won't get weird looks. The river areas like Eagle Street Pier are nice for walking, and there's usually foot traffic even in the evenings. Public transport connections are good, with those free City Circle buses that make getting around simple. Overall it's what you'd expect from an Australian city center - safe, well-lit, and people are generally helpful if you look lost.
