Details

Sandy Bay is the upscale beach suburb - University of Tasmania students mixed with wealthy professionals and retirees. Very safe, barely any crime, tree-lined streets, quiet. Sandy Bay Road has cafes, restaurants, boutique shops. Seagrass Long Point gets you river views. Sisterhood cafe does bottomless brunch and gets packed. The beach is small but good for morning walks. At night everything closes early and it empties out since it's residential. Safe but isolated. The casino is here but doesn't define the area. If you stay here, you're trading action for peace and safety. You'll need to bus or taxi 15 minutes into the CBD for evening stuff.
