The Garrison is a UNESCO site with preserved 18th and 19th century British military buildings. The museum explains island history, and George Washington House is where he stayed in 1751 - his only trip outside North America. The Savannah is a big open area where locals walk, jog, play rugby or basketball, fly kites, and hang out from morning to evening. Horse racing happens at the track three times a year (January-April, May-August, October) and you can watch from free areas. Feels safe and family-friendly during the day since locals treat it like their park. Blush Cafe near Sugar Bay has good coffee and an Instagram-worthy tropical setting - open daily for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch, fine for solo diners. The military buildings are interesting if you care about history, and walking tours explain why this was the British Caribbean headquarters. Come during daylight since it gets quiet at night with less people and lighting. Bring sunscreen and walking shoes - you'll be in the sun between buildings, though inside they're cool.
