Bruges, Belgium
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Bruges.
Quiet residential area around Minnewater Park. Close to center but peaceful, with limited nightlife. Good for relaxation.
Minnewater Park (Lake of Love) anchors this residential area south of the center. It's a 10-minute walk from the Markt and feels much quieter than the tourist zone. The park has a lake with willows and swans, and the Begijnhof complex nearby dates to the 1600s. Clean, quiet, family-oriented neighborhood with fewer restaurants and bars than the center. What's here tends to be good value. Less English than tourist areas. The Church of Our Lady is close by. Morning walks around Minnewater are nice, but there's not much nightlife. Good if you want peace and don't need to be in the thick of things.
