Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie is a residential neighborhood with lots of families and over 140 green alleyways. Includes Little Italy. Mostly families with kids, which creates a safe, community feel. Not touristy - this is where locals live their regular lives. Low crime, strong community ties. Streets are maintained and lit, safe day and night. Less English than western neighborhoods - some French helps but you can get by. Good cafes and restaurants, many family-run. Cheaper than Plateau or Mile End. Good transit connections to other parts of the city. Residential atmosphere, not focused on nightlife.
