Details

A residential peninsula 3km west of Old Town where Croatian families vacation. Accommodation costs 40-50% less than Old Town. Lapad Promenade runs along the coast with pine trees, cafes, and restaurants serving Croatian food. Unlike Old Town, there are actual sidewalks, parks, and green spaces where locals jog and families walk. Supermarkets like Konzum sell groceries at normal prices instead of tourist markups. Restaurant Orsan serves homemade food, and konobas (traditional taverns) do peka and seafood at half Old Town prices. Safe and residential with families around. Buses 2, 4, 5, and 9 run to Old Town every 15-20 minutes. Family-friendly beaches, not party scenes. Everything closes earlier than Old Town. Think of it as a base for exploring rather than a destination.
