Details

Just outside Pile Gate, the main western entrance to Old Town. Bus stops, taxis, and the cable car station are all within a few minutes. You're steps from the historic center but pay 30-50% less for accommodation than staying inside the walls. Mix of hotels, apartments, restaurants and shops aimed at tourists. Fort Lovrijenac sits on the clifftop here - the Game of Thrones fortress with sunset views. Constant foot traffic from people going to and from Old Town keeps it busy and safe until late. Dubravka 1836 by Pile Gate has Adriatic and city wall views at better prices than inside Old Town. Everything is walkable though there are hills and stairs like everywhere in Dubrovnik. Good bus connections to Lapad beaches and the port.
