The waterfront promenade runs along three beaches including Kašjuni Beach. The area feels separated from the city even though it's a 25-minute walk or bus ride (#12) from the Old Town. No real nightlife - it's residential focused on quiet living rather than tourist activity. The dining is good though. Kat's Kitchen does brunch, Adriatic and Zrno Soli offer upscale food with marina views. Bokamorra makes Neapolitan pizza. Vidilica Bar has drinks with views from Marjan Hill. The Meštrović Gallery (Ivan Meštrović's old home and studio) is here as a cultural spot. People like Meje for the quiet, safe atmosphere and natural setting. English is spoken in restaurants and cafes that serve the international resident community. Main issue is distance from the center - you need to bus or taxi to the Old Town for sightseeing or nightlife. Prices match the upscale character.
