Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Transport hub with light rail station. Named after Mexico for supporting Ethiopia during Italian occupation. Commuter area, good for connections, not a destination. Fine to pass through during the day, skip at night.
Major traffic circle named after Mexico (one of five countries that didn't recognize Italy's annexation of Ethiopia in the 1930s). Transport hub where the light rail runs overhead, connecting different parts of the city. Recent urban development brought better roads, parking, building access. It's a transit point - locals catch the light rail or switch minibuses. Busy with commuters during the day, generally safe but watch for pickpockets like any transport hub. Better lighting from development projects, but don't hang around after dark. Almost no English since it's a local commuter area. You'll pass through on the light rail, not spend time here.
