Kolonaki is Athens' upscale district - designer boutiques (Prada, Louis Vuitton) on Voukourestiou Street, business types in suits, and a cafe culture where people care about being seen at the right places. Located between Lycabettus Hill and city center. Staff speak English everywhere since they serve international business travelers. Solo dining is normal at places like Philos Athens or Malconi's - you'll see other women alone with laptops. Dexameni Square has an outdoor cinema in summer. Everything costs significantly more than neighborhoods like Koukaki or Psiri. Very safe to walk around anytime, well-lit with police presence. The atmosphere is polished and business-oriented, not about nightlife.
