Details

Koukaki is a residential area near the Acropolis Museum with tree-lined streets, university students, and local cafes. Less touristy than Plaka, cheaper prices, often better food since locals eat here. Safe to walk around in evenings, you'll see people at cafes late. Places like Kinono have young people working on laptops in the morning and having drinks in the afternoon. Solo dining is normal here. English is less common than tourist areas, but cafe staff and young people speak enough. The vibe is relaxed and local without being pretentious.
