Details

Cuatro Grados Norte is four blocks of trendy cafes, art galleries, boutique shops, and street murals. Young creative types and university students fill the outdoor tables during the day. Less corporate than Zone 10, more authentic feel. The pedestrian streets are nice for wandering during daylight - check out galleries, stop for coffee. Less English than Zona Viva but the art crowd is more international. The problem is timing. This is strictly daytime only. Around 7pm when galleries and restaurants close, everyone leaves and it becomes unsafe. Even locals say don't stay after dark. It's near rough zones so take Uber here and leave before sunset. Good for experiencing the creative side of Guatemala City, but plan for mid-morning to mid-afternoon and get out well before dark.
