Details

The City Park area is where you'll find Heroes' Square and the famous Széchenyi Thermal Baths. It's definitely worth visiting, especially for the baths which are amazing and feel completely safe for solo female travelers. The area itself is pretty safe during the day with families and tourists around, plus the major attractions have good security. The thermal baths are perfect for solo travel - very relaxing and no one bothers you, just soak in the warm water and enjoy. The park is nice for walking around and has that grand European feel around Heroes' Square. After dark it gets quieter since it's more of a daytime tourist area, but it's not unsafe, just less lively. If you're staying here, you'll be a bit removed from the main action but it's peaceful and well-connected by metro to the center.
