Details

Margaret Island is probably the most relaxing and safest place in all of Budapest. It's a car-free park in the middle of the Danube, perfect for jogging, walking, or just unwinding from city sightseeing. The atmosphere is really peaceful and family-friendly - you'll see locals exercising, families with kids, and other travelers just chilling out. The thermal baths here are less touristy than the famous ones and feel more authentic. During the day, it's completely safe to walk around alone, and even in the evening it feels secure though it does get quieter. The island closes at night, so you can't stay late, but that also means it's well-maintained and patrolled. It's a nice break from the hustle of the city and perfect if you want to do some outdoor activities or just relax somewhere peaceful.
