Connaught Place is Delhi's colonial-era commercial center with distinctive white colonnaded buildings in concentric circles. The central area stays busy morning to late evening with office workers, shoppers, and tourists - the foot traffic creates some safety. Everything from street food to upscale restaurants, international brands to local shops. The inner and middle circles (Rajiv Chowk) are well-lit and patrolled until late, making evening walks more manageable than elsewhere in Delhi. That said, this is scammer central - fake tour offices, gem scams, overpriced transportation. Never trust anyone who approaches you. English is common since it's a business and tourist hub. Rajiv Chowk metro station connects multiple lines underneath. Solo dining works fine at the restaurants and cafes, prices are moderate to high. Stick to the lit main circles at night, avoid outer areas and Palika Bazaar after dark. The constant activity is overwhelming but provides safety.
