Mumbai, India
Planned suburb with expat families. Safe and quiet with good infrastructure, but cut off from the city. Limited nightlife. For working remotely, not exploring.
Powai is a planned neighborhood around Powai Lake where expat families and tech workers live. Hiranandani Gardens is the main township - upscale apartments, hospital, shopping, manicured parks. It's greener and quieter than the rest of Mumbai. You'll find actual sidewalks for walking, which is rare. English spoken because of expats and educated professionals. Very secure with visible security, but isolated from the rest of the city. Getting to South Mumbai or Bandra means 90+ minutes in traffic. No trendy scene - Renaissance Hotel and Fratelli Fresh for dining, but otherwise residential. This is for families and professionals, not tourists looking for action. Makes sense if you're working remotely and want quiet over excitement.

The waterfront promenade that's safe for walking anytime. Good for a peaceful walk with sea views, not really about destinations.
Mumbai's upscale neighborhood with restaurants, cafes, and a cosmopolitan feel. Safe and good for solo dining, but expensive and spread out.
The main tourist area with Gateway of India, international restaurants, and markets. Police presence and English speakers make it easier, though you'll pay tourist prices and deal with crowded streets.
