Dublin, Ireland
The main tourist area with markets and galleries during the day, drunk party crowds at night. Come for daytime culture, leave before it gets late. Watch your belongings constantly.
Temple Bar is the tourist area - cobblestone streets on the south bank of the Liffey with pubs, galleries, and shops. During the day you'll find street markets, art galleries, and Meeting House Square with food markets and outdoor screenings. At night it turns into the party district with bachelorette groups and drunk tourists. Locals mostly avoid it for nightlife - the pubs are sticky-floored and overpriced. Eating here during the day is fine, with cafes full of workers and tourists. After midnight it gets messy and walking alone feels sketchy. Pickpocketing is common at all hours - keep your phone out of sight and bags zipped. Come during the day for markets and culture, maybe dinner around 6-7pm, then go elsewhere for evening activities. The Ha'Penny Bridge is nearby if you want photos.
