Details

Between the city center and Navigli canals - a transitional zone. Street art, vintage shops, independent boutiques, cheaper trattorias than tourist areas. Corso di Porta Ticinese is the main street, busy during the day with locals and students, connects to Navigli's nightlife. Some English spoken but less than Duomo or Brera. Safe during day and early evening with decent foot traffic on main streets. After 10pm the action moves to Navigli. Avoid side streets near Via Gola, Via Pichi, and Via Borsi. The main corso stays well-traveled. Good value if you want to be near both Duomo (15-minute walk) and Navigli without paying tourist prices.
