Kingston, Jamaica
Kingston's wealthiest residential area in the Blue Mountain foothills. Extremely safe but isolated from dining and attractions, so you'll need taxis for everything.
Up in the Blue Mountain foothills, Cherry Gardens and Norbrook are where Jamaica's wealthy live - gated homes, luxury cars, diplomats, and returning expats. It's quiet, secure, and feels completely different from downtown Kingston. These neighborhoods are extremely safe during the day with private security and low crime, plus mountain views. But there's nothing here for tourists - it's purely residential with almost no restaurants or attractions. You might stay in a guesthouse or Airbnb here if you want maximum security and don't mind being far from everything else. The downside is you'll taxi to New Kingston or Half Way Tree for every meal and activity, which adds time and cost. Popular with older travelers or anyone who values safety over being near the action.

Kingston's cultural tourism area with Devon House estate and Bob Marley Museum. Very safe during the day with good food, but it gets quiet and residential after dark.
The business district and safest base in Kingston. Good hotels, restaurants, and infrastructure, though you still need to use taxis at night and stay aware.
The main transport and commercial hub with authentic local atmosphere and lots of street food. Safe during daylight but crowded and chaotic - watch your belongings and leave before evening.
