Residential area popular with expats, with cafes and a family-friendly atmosphere. More affordable and less touristy than Polana Cimento, with decent security.
Sommerschield is where expats and wealthy Mozambicans live. It's quieter and more residential than Polana Cimento, with cafes and restaurants along Avenida Julius Nyerere. Families go to places like Sukri Café and Botanica for weekend brunch. English is common since many internationals live here. Security is decent with private guards at properties, though you still shouldn't walk alone after dark. Less touristy than Polana Cimento while still being relatively safe.
