Restaurants range from fine dining at Cibo to Samoan at Tala, tucked in laneways. Attracts an older, wealthier crowd than Ponsonby - more mature atmosphere. Safe to walk day or night with tree-lined streets and decent lighting. Solo dining is comfortable - cafes don't mind people on laptops or reading through long brunches. About a 10-minute walk from the CBD, close enough to be convenient but feels like a separate neighborhood. Parnell Rose Garden and the waterfront path offer walking routes.
