West Bay is the modern business and hotel district. Very safe, English is standard, international restaurants and hotels. Good for first-timers who want familiarity and convenience, but expect high prices and limited local character.

West Bay is the modern business district - tall glass towers full of hotels, bank offices, and upscale restaurants. During the week it's busy with business travelers, evenings and weekends it becomes a dining area. Most people speak English here since the area caters to international visitors and expats. The Corniche runs along the waterfront with views of the skyline, especially nice after sunset when buildings light up. Security is high - hotel guards, private security, regular police - so it feels very safe even late at night. Eating alone is normal here, you'll see business people on laptops in restaurants. The downside is it could be any modern business district anywhere - not much authentic Qatari character. Prices are high to match the international hotel zone.
