Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Jeddah.
The Corniche waterfront with parks, restaurants, and the tall fountain. Good for evening walks, family-friendly, feels safe with lots of people around.
Al Shati is basically the 30-kilometer Corniche waterfront - parks, walkways, and King Fahd's Fountain (shoots 312 meters up most evenings). Families picnic in the parks, people jog the promenade, and there are waterfront restaurants. The northern end has the Yacht Club & Marina with places like Emmy Squared Pizza and Marina Social. Shangri-La Hotel has multiple restaurants including Shang Palace (Chinese) and Niyyali (Lebanese). The Corniche is much better at night when it cools down and the lights come on. Lots of foot traffic, good lighting, regular security. Waterfront restaurants are used to international guests, English widely spoken. Red Sea Mall is nearby for air-conditioned shopping. The Corniche stretches far - you'll need rides between different sections, not practical to walk the whole thing.
