Belgrade, Serbia
The creative/hipster neighborhood with specialty coffee shops, galleries, and bars. Safe, good English, and sitting alone is normal. Nightlife is more relaxed than Savamala's club scene.
Dorćol is the hipster area - specialty coffee, vintage shops, art galleries. It's actually the oldest part of Belgrade that survived but now attracts a younger creative crowd. Lots of people working on laptops in cafés during the day. Good bars at night. Streets are well-lit and stay busy late. Sitting alone is common here - nobody will think it's strange.
