Seoul, South Korea
Main shopping and tourist area with Korean beauty stores and street food. Very safe with heavy police but no local atmosphere. Good for shopping and cosmetics.
Myeongdong is the main shopping area where Korean beauty brands and street food vendors are everywhere. The pedestrian streets are packed noon to 10pm with tourists and young Koreans buying skincare. Tourist police are on every corner making it very safe even late. English in most shops since they get lots of Chinese, Japanese, and Western tourists. Bright, energetic vibe that feels safe - almost theme park-like with constant crowds and cameras. You can spend hours browsing beauty shops, trying samples, eating street food. The downside is it's super commercial with no local character - all tourists. After 10pm crowds disappear and shops close, turning into a quieter area near Myeongdong Cathedral.
