Stockholm, Sweden
Museum island with lots of green space. Good for museums and walking. Very safe.
Djurgården is a museum island that's mostly park with museums scattered around. The Vasa Museum has a 17th-century warship that sank and was recovered 333 years later. Skansen is an old open-air museum showing Swedish history. ABBA The Museum is here too, plus about 21 other museums. The island is big enough that you can walk a few minutes from any museum and be alone in the trees with water views. Rosendals Trädgård is a garden with a café serving food they grow there. The island is free to walk around 24 hours, but museums charge admission. Nice for wandering alone, especially early morning or evening when the crowds leave. English spoken at all museums. Very safe - families picnicking, people walking around.
