Stockholm, Sweden
The upscale district with designer shopping, fine dining, and high security. Very expensive but extremely safe.
Östermalm is Stockholm's wealthy district - designer shops around Stureplan, Michelin-starred restaurants, and expensive apartments. The streets are very clean, and there are lots of police because of nearby embassies. You'll see luxury cars everywhere. Östermalms Saluhall (the food hall) is under renovation. The area has high-end dining, mostly Nordic and international cuisine. The crowd is older and more conservative than Södermalm - business people and wealthy locals. Eating alone at restaurants is normal. English is spoken everywhere. Nice waterfront walks, and Djurgården island is across the bridge. Very high security with private guards and embassy staff, making it extremely safe. The downside is everything is expensive and the atmosphere feels a bit sterile compared to other neighborhoods.
