Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Abu Dhabi.
Entertainment hub with theme parks and waterfront dining. Very safe but feels like a resort, not a cultural experience.
A 25-square-kilometer entertainment destination with Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina Circuit (Formula 1), and Yas Mall. Yas Bay Waterfront has restaurants, cafes, Etihad Arena for concerts, beach clubs, and bars. Families come during the day, younger crowds in the evenings. The entire island is a managed resort with security everywhere. A free Yas Express Shuttle connects hotels, theme parks, and dining areas. Waterfront restaurants are full of travelers and expats eating alone with marina views. Everyone speaks English since it's mostly international tourists. It's a theme park resort, not an authentic cultural experience. Good if you want entertainment, dining variety, and safety. Don't come expecting traditional Emirati life. Theme parks get packed during school holidays and weekends. Yas Bay stays active late with bars and restaurants open past midnight on weekends.
