Details

Camden Market is great for alternative shopping and has a unique atmosphere, but it's in a higher-crime area of London. During the day the market is busy and feels safe enough, though you need to watch your belongings because pickpockets know tourists come here with cash. After dark it gets dodgy - drug dealing is common and the area around the market empties out. The canal is nice for a daytime walk, but avoid it at night. If you're coming for gigs at KOKO or the Roundhouse, get a taxi or Uber back rather than walking through the area late.
