London, United Kingdom
Soho has great restaurants and nightlife with an inclusive LGBTQ+ scene, but be careful late at night when it gets rowdy. Good for dining and early evening activities, less good for late-night solo adventures.
Soho has great food and is very LGBTQ+ friendly, but it gets messy late at night. During the day and early evening, it's fine - lots of good restaurants for solo dining and a welcoming atmosphere. But after 10 PM, especially on weekends, drunk groups take over the streets and it can get uncomfortable for solo travelers. The narrow streets and crowds make it easy for harassment to happen. Police do patrol, but they're dealing with a lot of anti-social behavior. Stick to the main streets if you're out late, and don't be afraid to duck into a busy pub or restaurant if someone's bothering you.

Areas with comparable safety profiles for solo female travelers
Shoreditch has London's best street art and creative dining scene, but be careful at night when poorly lit areas and party crowds make it less safe. Worth visiting for the culture, just plan your evening routes carefully.
Camden has unique alternative markets and music culture, but it's in a higher-crime area of London. Good for daytime market visits and alternative shopping, but be extra cautious at night.
Notting Hill is charming with the famous colorful houses and weekend market. Generally safe with a village feel, but watch for pickpockets at Portobello Market and stick to the southern areas at night.
