Details

Lakeview is a large North Side area that includes East Lakeview, Boystown (Northalsted), and parts of Wrigleyville near the Cubs stadium. Boystown is the LGBTQ+ area with rainbow pylons and inclusive bars. East Lakeview has nicer restaurants along Broadway and Halsted. Residential streets have older apartment buildings. The lakefront means beach access and the Lakefront Trail for running or biking. Mix of young professionals, LGBTQ+ community, sports fans, and families. Restaurants range from Vietnamese to Venezuelan, plus cafes for working. Generally safe with foot traffic at night and a community feel. Boystown especially welcoming for LGBTQ+ travelers. On Cubs game days, Wrigleyville turns into a huge street party - fun if you're into that, overwhelming if you're not.
