Details

The Arts District, also called 18b, is a small group of blocks south of Downtown with murals, vintage and antique shops, galleries, craft breweries and independent restaurants. It feels the most like an ordinary city neighborhood of anywhere in Las Vegas, with locals, creatives and visitors instead of casino crowds. It is busy on weekend afternoons and evenings and on First Friday, but quiet on weekday evenings, with warehouses and empty lots nearby. Eating alone is easy at the counters and patios. The blocks between the Arts District and the Strip or Fremont Street are empty at night, so take a rideshare there and back instead of walking.

The Strip is the easiest place in Las Vegas to be out alone at night, since it is crowded, patrolled and built for visitors. Expect drunk crowds, hustlers and high prices, and use rideshare for long distances.
