Details

Studio City is one of the safest areas in all of LA, with violent crime rates way below the rest of the county. It's in the San Fernando Valley and feels very suburban - lots of mid-century ranch houses on tree-lined streets and family-owned businesses along Ventura Boulevard. You're close to Universal Studios and CBS Studio Center, so you'll see entertainment industry people around, but it's mostly just a quiet residential area. Fryman Canyon Park has nice hiking trails with valley views and free parking. The whole area feels really safe for women - regular police patrols, well-lit streets, and that suburban vibe where neighbors know each other. It's not the most exciting place to stay if you want to be in the thick of things, but if safety is your top priority and you don't mind driving or Ubering to other areas, it's a great choice.
