Los Angeles, United States
West Hollywood has LA's most inclusive nightlife scene in a relatively safe environment. The LGBTQ+-friendly culture, walkable streets, and good restaurants make it a popular area, especially if you want to experience the Sunset Strip.
West Hollywood is probably your best bet for nightlife as a solo woman in LA. The gay-friendly vibe means you'll get way less harassment, and there are always people around even late at night. The Sunset Strip has all the famous clubs and comedy venues, plus the Sheriff's station keeps things pretty well-patrolled. The Abbey is this huge gay bar complex that's super welcoming to women - multiple patios, good food, and a safe crowd. Santa Monica Boulevard is the main drag with rainbow crosswalks marking the heart of the gayborhood. Melrose has great vintage shopping during the day. The whole area stays busy until 2am, which actually helps with safety since you're never walking alone on empty streets. Staff at restaurants and bars here are used to solo female diners and tend to look out for you.
