Miami, United States
What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Miami.
Luxury shopping and dining area with contemporary art, MICHELIN-starred restaurants, high-end boutiques. Very safe and curated. Expensive and artificial, lacks authentic character.
Eighteen blocks north of Wynwood combining luxury shopping, contemporary art, and high-end dining. Flagship boutiques from Prada, Celine, and Balenciaga next to public art installations and restaurants including MICHELIN-starred COTE Miami. The whole area was designed as an upscale destination, so everything feels curated - wide sidewalks, excellent lighting, security presence, public art everywhere. During the day you see shoppers, tourists photographing installations, people at upscale cafes. Very safe at all hours with constant foot traffic and security from the luxury stores. MIA Market is a chef-driven food hall with multiple concepts and a cocktail bar, easy way to try different cuisines. Dining ranges from James Beard winner Michael Schwartz's farm-to-table place (Michael's Genuine) to the see-and-be-seen crowd at Swan & Bar Bevy. People eat alone at the upscale-casual spots all the time. The downside: expensive across the board - shopping, dining, drinks. Feels artificial and lacks authentic neighborhood character compared to places like Little Havana or Coconut Grove. Good for safety, food, and nice surroundings.
