Details

Winter Park is a separate small city just north of Orlando, and it is the most polished and relaxed place to spend a day or two. Park Avenue is a shaded, mile-long strip of boutiques, galleries, sidewalk cafes and restaurants, with Rollins College at one end and the Morse Museum, home to a large collection of Tiffany glass, at the other. The Scenic Boat Tour on the lakes passes the lakefront mansions. The town is calm, clean and consistently one of the safest parts of the metro area, with an older, well-off crowd. Nightlife is low-key and restaurants wind down by mid-evening. Expect to rideshare or take SunRail to reach the rest of the city, and expect higher prices than elsewhere in Orlando.

Mills 50 is the best part of Orlando for food: independent restaurants, bars and music venues with a mixed, creative crowd. It is easy by day and on busy evenings, but it is more spread out and rougher than Thornton Park, so take a rideshare between venues after dark.
