Details

Fishtown is a former industrial neighborhood that is now one of Philadelphia's trendiest, with independent restaurants, coffee roasters, music venues and boutiques along Frankford Avenue and Girard Avenue. The crowd is young and creative, and eating or drinking alone is easy and unfussy. Kensington is close by to the north, with open drug use and a very different feel. The commercial strips are busy, but conditions can change within a few blocks. After dark, stay on Frankford Avenue, Girard Avenue and the blocks around the main venues, take a rideshare to and from, and don't walk north of Norris Street or toward Kensington Avenue.
