Details

Tree-lined streets and a small cluster of independent coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and an indie cinema make up 9th and 9th, centered on the intersection of 900 South and 900 East in the East Bench. Locals like it, and it is an easy place to spend an afternoon: sit at a cafe, browse the small shops and walk the surrounding blocks of bungalows. It is quiet after about 9pm, but the cafes, restaurants and neighborhood bars keep the evening friendly and safe. Visitors who stay here usually rent a room or apartment rather than a hotel, and downtown is a short rideshare or bus ride away.
