Details

The SR 179 corridor runs south from the main Highway 89A junction toward the Village of Oak Creek and holds Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, upscale resorts, spas, galleries and some of the town's best restaurants. Tlaquepaque is a pedestrian-only village of shaded courtyards beside Oak Creek, and it feels very calm and safe by day and early evening. Past the village, the highway has limited sidewalks, so most visitors drive between places. The area is quieter and more upscale than Uptown, and it works for spa days, wine and a slower pace. Solo diners are common at the bars and patios here. Evenings end early, and walking along the roadway after dark is not recommended, so plan rides or park close to where you eat.
