Areas with comparable safety profiles for solo female travelers
Minca is the area around Santa Marta that solo women recommend most often. It's a small mountain community with mostly international nature-oriented visitors and very little street harassment, so it feels far more relaxed than the coast. Plan on at least two nights, since the colectivo is cheap and easy. Bring enough cash for the whole stay because there are no ATMs. Don't hike remote trails alone.
For most visitors the historic center is the easiest base in Santa Marta. It's walkable and cheaper than the beach areas, and it has plenty of cafes and restaurants where eating or drinking alone is normal. After dark, stay on lit, busy streets and use app-based taxis. The steady flow of backpackers also makes it easy to find company if you want it.
El Rodadero makes sense if you want beach access and some energy around you. The seafood restaurants are good, but harassment and petty theft are worse than in the historic center. Stay on the main beachfront strip, take app taxis at night, and don't leave anything unattended on the sand.
