Details

Kadriorg is a quieter residential area with tree-lined streets where embassy staff and wealthier locals live. The main draw is Kadriorg Park, a baroque garden from 1718 with a palace, swan pond, and flower gardens. It's about 10 minutes from Old Town but feels more residential and less touristy. Locals come for walks, jogs, or to sit at cafes like NOP or Gourmet Coffee Kadriorg. Katharinenthal is a cafe-restaurant by the Swan Pond with cakes and coffee in an old building. The area is very safe with good lighting and police patrols because of the embassies. You'll see families, elderly couples, and people walking alone. Cafes serve the diplomatic crowd so English is common. There's not much nightlife - this is for afternoon walks and early dinners. Most places close by 10pm since it's residential.
