Berlin, Germany
Upscale western district centered on luxury shopping street Kurfürstendamm. Very safe and comfortable but can feel business-oriented and less vibrant.
Charlottenburg is the fancy part of Berlin where business travelers and wealthy locals hang out. Kurfürstendamm is the main shopping street with well-dressed people browsing expensive stores during the day, and around Savignyplatz you'll find wine bars where business people eat alone all the time. The whole area feels very safe with regular police patrols and good lighting, though it can get pretty quiet in the evenings compared to the livelier eastern neighborhoods. Tourists come during the day to see the palace and memorial church, which adds to the foot traffic. Everyone speaks English since they're used to international business visitors. It's definitely safe and comfortable, but also kind of sterile - more like a business district than a neighborhood with real character.

Areas with comparable safety profiles for solo female travelers
Historic LGBTQ+ district with welcoming atmosphere and local markets. Safe, inclusive community vibe without heavy tourist crowds.
Berlin's historic center with major landmarks, museums, and government buildings. Well-policed but crowded - watch belongings near tourist attractions.
Quiet, family-friendly area with excellent cafes and the popular Mauerpark flea market. Very safe but pricier and less authentically 'Berlin' than other districts.
