Don't Make These 5 Mistakes in Lahore

What 90% of solo women don't know about staying safe in Lahore.

Summary

The main upscale area with the best restaurants and cafes that have wifi. Feels safer than most of Lahore, especially around MM Alam Road. You'll pay more for everything and it's less authentically Pakistani.

Details

This is the upscale commercial area with restaurants and cafes along MM Alam Road. Young professionals, families, and expats create a more cosmopolitan feel than most of Lahore. You'll see local women working on laptops in cafes alone, so eating by yourself doesn't stand out. The MM Alam food street gets busy after sunset and stays that way until late. English works in most restaurants since they cater to wealthy locals and internationals. Police are around, street lighting is good, and private security guards stand outside many places. Main streets feel safe to walk until 10-11pm, but stick to those well-lit roads rather than residential side streets. It's modern urban Pakistan - fashionable people, decent restaurants, and safer than the country's reputation suggests.
