Porto, Portugal
Porto's creative area with coffee shops, vintage stores, and street art. Safe with a younger crowd. Good for working in cafes or eating alone. Cheaper than tourist areas while being close to downtown.
The creative district with vintage shops, galleries, and specialty coffee places where young professionals and artists spend time. Street art on the walls, indie boutiques with handmade stuff, people working on laptops in places like Combi Coffee during the day. At night there are craft beer bars and Asian fusion spots. Has some of the better brunch places in Porto, and you'll see locals eating alone while reading or working - it's normal here. English works in the trendy spots since they get international customers and expats. Right next to Baixa so you're close to the main sights and nightlife but in a quieter area. Feels safe day and night with decent lighting and people around, though it's more residential so less police presence than downtown. Cheaper than the tourist zones while still having good food and the creative scene.

University neighborhood with student energy. Historic buildings but modern vibe. Affordable places to eat with a younger crowd. Safe during the day, nightlife is more student party scene. Skip the Miradouro viewpoint after dark.
Porto's commercial center and main nightlife zone. Business district by day, party central on weekends. Safe due to constant crowds and police, with lots of dining options. Can be overwhelming if you're not into loud bar scenes.
