Cape Town, South Africa
Sea Point has an active coastal promenade and lots of restaurants that work well for solo dining. Decent during the day, but crime has increased - don't walk alone at night.
Sea Point runs along the Atlantic coast with a 2km promenade where people jog, walk dogs, and hang out from sunrise to sunset. Beach Road and Main Road are packed with restaurants and cafes - bagel shops, brunch places, Indian and Italian restaurants. The promenade stays fairly active until around 9pm with decent lighting, making it one of the few spots in Cape Town where early evening walks feel somewhat safe. Still, once it's properly dark, take an Uber. Lots of apartment buildings mean the streets stay busier than some areas. Beach Road restaurants have ocean views and work well for eating alone - many have counter seating facing the water. Most people speak English. The area attracts young professionals and tourists. Petty crime has increased in recent years, so keep your phone hidden and stay aware. During the day it's a reasonable base with MyCiTi bus access to other areas.
