Business travelers and wealthy locals bring families on weekends. Plenty of business people eat alone while checking phones, so dining solo feels normal. Restaurant and bar staff speak English for the international crowd. Taipei Hooters' 14th-floor rooftop has views of Taipei 101 with cheap happy hour drinks (3-6:30pm daily). Feels safe and organized, almost sterile compared to older neighborhoods. Places stay open later than residential areas - bars and restaurants until 2am weekends. Trade-off is expense and lack of local character. Could be any modern Asian business district. Works if safety and familiarity matter most, less interesting for authentic experiences. Stays busy late with people leaving venues. Taxis always available.
