The Tuesday market has amazing fresh produce and you can actually browse without constant harassment. Moda's waterfront is perfect for walking or just sitting at a cafe watching the ferries. The vintage shopping on Bahariye Caddesi is fun without being pushy. The bars attract university students and young professionals, creating a much more normal social scene. Street harassment is noticeably less here - you can actually walk around and explore without constantly being on guard. The ferry ride to the European side is scenic and frequent, so you're not isolated from the main sights.
