Residential area with expats and good security, but nothing nearby for tourists. Works for extended stays if you value quiet safety over convenience.
Expats, aid workers, and wealthier Zambians live here in gated compounds with security guards. Tree-lined streets, well-kept homes, and not much else - it's a quiet residential area without restaurants or entertainment nearby. Elaine Brittell medical facilities are located here, including the main hospital and private clinics. A few local bars exist but most people go elsewhere for dining and nightlife. During the day it's safe to walk around with security at most properties and lower crime than other parts of town. At night the streets are very quiet and lighting is limited, so stay on main roads.
